...WARNING... Your Social Media Campaign is dead-in-the-water if you don't: Here are a few tips that will help with any social network you join: Profile - Make sure you have entered as much profile information as possible, especially links to your website, your interests, what you are looking for (friends, networking), and a bit about yourself, your Unique Selling Position (USP), whatever there is that makes you interesting. A photo, or an avatar is a must; people are much more willing to interact if there is a face to go with the name. Make sure your profile is public, so that everyone can see your profile page without having to be your friend. Friends - Building friends/ fans/ connections/ followers should be the next step once you have content on your site. People are not likely to befriend someone (unless they know them) that has a blank, static or lifeless page. The easiest way to get contacts in the beginning is to use the “email contact” option that the large social media networks make available. It will scan your email contacts to find people that you communicate with who are already registered and using that website. It will also allow you to invite your contacts that are not already using that site. Use this tool periodically - say once a week or once a month, depending upon the rate that your email contact list grows. The next way to gain friends is to use the search option. With it, you can find people with similar interests, professions. You can also narrow your search geographically. When sending a friend request, include a message stating whatever it is that you have in common with the person that you’re trying to befriend. Most larger social media sites offer this option. Interaction - Once you have contacts, be sure to interact with them using the various features the network has to offer. There are many people who will unfriend you if you do not contribute to the community in some form or fashion. Remember that the avatars on a forum represent real people! Be polite. Be courteous. Be helpful. Don’t spam or troll. Follow the forum's rules. What Coach Denise Can Do with youREACH FOR MORE - MUCH MORE!!!
